Do positive STD and HIV results get reported?

Yes, we are required by State Law to report positive STD results to your local health department. This is done through a secure report, using name-based reporting. This means only your name and result is reported to the local and state health department, but only state public health personnel have access to this information. This is to track rates of the STD in your state. Then your state health department will remove all identifiable information and report only the positive result to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
